Through the study of LOTE (Language Other Than English), students come to understand different cultures and ways of thinking. Weekly lessons are taught in Italian for Grades Prep to Grade five and Mandarin in Grade six, aligned with the Victorian Curriculum 2.0.

Through stories, songs, poems and games students learn to count, greet, name colours, days of the week,etc. Students are encouraged to use the language by repeating short, simple texts to describe and ask questions. In the senior years students are engaged in opportunities to translate simple texts both written and orally.

Through studies of the Italian and Chinese culture, the students learn to appreciate the influences on the Australian way of life.
